REMAINING AWAKE AMIDST A GREAT REVOLUTION

Image
As prof Oluwole Babatunde Soyinka said in his book the man died.....the man in you must Never die and in this context, the man includes the woman Kenya is faced with multiple challenges several transformations and drastic changes. Many will alide that it is a global revolution but I wish to somehow disagree with such an analogy for some of these issues are problems of our creation. I believe many of us have read that little story from the pin of Washington Irving titled RIP VAN WINKLE  he went to the kirt skill mountains where he slept for 20 years. When he went to the forest he left the picture of King George the 3rd of England but while there a great revolution was happening for he came back he found the picture of George Washington the 1st President of the USA.   Rip van Winkle was completely lost he knew not who he was. He slept through a great revolution. Many people find themselves living amid a great period of social change and they fail to develop new ...

WHO IS TO SAFE KENYANS FROM POISON OF POLITICIANS

Image
Kenya is a very fertile land admired by many both within the continent of Africa and outside. She is. A nation that is blessed with many natural resources that could help her grow. This is a nation that anyone would want to associate with. Despite having a very terrible economy in the recent past following self-centered personalities getting authority through elections to oversee this nation, and perhaps also through sensitizing the electorate and misleading them.  1. Through rural propaganda  2. Mobilization of ethnic groupings  3. Bribing of voters during the campaign and election period. 4. Compromised individuals working in institutions in Kenya. I.e IEBC  5. Political intimidation by seniority of some political heavyweights. 6. Lack of Democratic rights and responsibility due to the electorate being forced to do as directed. 7. political hatred between competitors and their supporters. Several concerns ought to be questioned: > If it is a serious ...

A paradigm shift in the political circle in Kenya

Image
As they say a good dancer should know when to leave stage, ......and as we look forward to see what the new dancers we just ushered to the stage have for their audience who are the electorate there are already some smoke seen in some leaders who require credit despite the short duration experienced so far. As Alexandar Diop  once said "Drink deep the western spring or taste no because a little moderlity is a dangerous thing"  I have taken a survey on some leaders whom were given the responsibility of representing them by the electorate....... And perhaps there is a reason why some may be celebrated. It is very clear that  it isn't time to stay in politics immediately after an election cycle but fact is a politician will always keep politicking irrespective of period.  I wish to submit that kenyan politics is gradually undergoing a political revolution. This calls for a critical and keen observer to be able to notice such a great period of our life time. W...

Visionary leaders ought to be helpful to it's community

Image
Being mindful of letting the gone be by gones. But it is healthful t also consider some issues of the past that can help to inform the future. Speaking of deveopment, waswahili wanasema mgaala muue nayo haki.............? H.E the former Governor had issued 2M from his own pocket to help nurture talents. Which was meant to buy a field in Ngaira farm for the community of misanga. It was a scheduled plan in the year 2018. Opinion leaders were given greenlight to reach out to the owner of the land to help but the land for the community. Those assigned the duty were among others Justus Situringi, Franco who did their part well by reaching out to Eliud Ngaira who then requested time claiming it was a family property and thus had to consult with other members of the family some who were abroad by then. He there requested that once he could be through with the consultations he would get back to them and thus help facilitate acquisition of the and by the community. This ...

THE SOCIETY IS ON ITS KNEES BECAUSE OF IMBALANCED LEADERSHIP

Being mindful that elections are behind us for almost one year now. The electorate did their bid, what is left is getting what they were promised. Right from MCA to the Presidency each has a role to play. The FY 2017-2018 Soysambu/Mitua ward a debt of two health facilities:Misanga Dispensary and Brigadier Health Centre is yet to be completed.  Why? Because the former Governor Hon Wangamati and Hon Stephen MCA were not reading on the same page the Misanga Dispensary had an allocation of 6M but as of the Health and sanitation record the money to be used is 2.34M here lies the question where is the 3.66M? Similarly, Brigadier Health Centre had 18M which was inclusive buying, and 3M thus since there was already land. It is alleged that the 3M was used to purchase land at Bishop Wabukala and Misanga Dispensary. Which is not the case. Truth ought to be told to us. Speaking of Bishop Wabukala, the County Government constructed 2 ECDE classrooms on that land which c...

Tragedy Of Tongaren Constituency.

I analyze the Bungoma East constituency of 1964 when the late Hon Mark Barasa was a member of parliament. When the country was toddling from the York of colonialism under the KANU regime. During this era, there was no CDF nor devolution and the country was de facto under H.E late Jomo but some traces of development were realized among them the Panpaper in Webuye, Lugulu High School in Webuye Chesamisi High School in Kimilili and Friends School Kamunsinga still in Kimilili.  His service to humanity was shallowly felt in the upper party and hence marred with a regional imbalance in terms of resource allocation.  History doesn't remember him fondly  Then there came Hon Elijah Mwangale who was manning the Kimilili constituency he is mostly known for statements such as "tenaaa" During his tenure little was done about the development of the constituency but only could appear when elections were nearing issuing salt to women, biscuits to child...

Political leaders tend to be taking the wrong turn please come back to the right path.

Nearly 8months after the general election was concluded on August 9, 2023, the government both at the national and counties are yet to start implementing their policies to achieve the manifesto presented to the electorate during the concluded election campaigns. The majority of Kenyans are asking but why are we going delayed ??  The president of the Republic of Kenya  presented a very encouraging model ( bottom-up economic model) that the majority of Kenyans would like to see implemented. How would such be done if the country that was handed over was broke? Mobilization of resources from internal and external investing has become a challenge following the political conflicts that are being experienced. Days in and days out we hear of demonstrations being arranged by the opposition. The opposition feels aggrieved following the fact that they believe to have won the election. In this pull and push the common citizen is left to wonder if in truth it was the interest o...
