KENYANS NEED TO RE-DEFINE CORRUPTION AND FIGHT IT ONE ACCORD.

The fight against corruption has been a song in this county for a very long time now. Sometimes it becomes very unclear as to whether the citizens of this country understand the definition of the word corruption.
It appears to be mostly focused on giving out something to get a favor. This favors are categorized as corrupt when it is directly linked to getting a job, winning a tender, e.t.c
What do we term the following :
1. When the custodian of a firm awards tenders to himself I.e supply the needful to an institution then write a cheques paying to himself through proxy?
 2. When public funds in an institution are not used for the targetted agenda?
Most institutions are collapsing following the administrators failing to use the funds for the school to improve the standards but instead siphon the funds into their private accounts.
Public servants have grown to becoming graduates in taking public funds for their benefits ..........
On 17/08/2023 during the parents meeting at st Juliana secondary school found in Tongaren constituency. At the introduction session of the new principal to parents with the new Deuty principal following the retirement of the former principal a lot of serious concerns were raised which are now in the public domain
1.The new principal found only less than ksh.1000 in the school account.!!!!
2.The school store has only 6kgs of maize.!!!!
Such a situation leaves behind a lot of question marks as to whether the school had ran bankruptcy or if public funds were diverted to personal gains.
This is a school with almost 1000 students. Form 4 has a candidature of 200+ students we have funding that comes from national government ministry of Education for each students.
Similarly funding comes from bursary both national through CDF and County through ward bursary.
Against all odds does this school not receive any of he above mentioned???  And if yes how was it utilized...... ???
Does such a fact communicate that no student has ever paid fees for the year???
It is very disturbing that a school bus submitted to the school by CDF 2020 during the regime of Hon Dr. Eseli Simiyu.
The bus was basically meant to facilitate transportation of students for purposes of learning. It is also involved in helping the community through hiring. The said bus has been hired by the community on very many occasions and payments made to school.
Facts conveyed are that the school account has never received any payment in the name of the bus. It is from reliable source that money for the bus were wired to individual account.
Who is this person that has grown so thick that no one could question not audit???
Impunity of the highest ranking !!!!
When such questions are raised it is not known as whether they ought to be directed to the former principal or the new principal or the Education office that oversaw the handing over and taking over.
During that ceremony it is evident that the Education office Tongaren was present. They came to witness but what were they witnessing???
What was the incoming principal taking over?? The keys???
What about the sponsor ?? What is the role in such situations.....
Was the Education office compromised???
Was the sponsor compromised too??
IT IS IN THE PUBLIC DOMAIN THAT ON THE NIGHT TO THE HANDING OVER CEREMONY .... THE SCHOOL WAS VANDALIZED !!!!!!!
Something funny with the saga is that the only thing that were stolen were the Laptop of the PRINCIPAL with a flash and same done in the office of the BURSAR.!!!!
1. Was this a co- incident that gadgets dealing with accounts were the only affected. If the thief's wanted computers only why take only two when the school has over 20 computers???
2. The watchman noted the robbers arrived at 12midnight. He called neighbors who immediately called the police post Brigadier a distance of 800M but police arrive at around 3AM. We're they compromised??
On hearing this, the following day which was the D-day for handing over.......the ceremony was conducted nevertheless. No statement has been written ....no investigation is done.....and here is a new principal who is expected to run the school with 6kgs maize and less ksh 1000 in account.
Who shall the parents and entire community blame?? Suppose that is the route where public funds can be misused and no one is held accountable how long shall it take to have this country develop???
What about others who are still serving and have seen people go away without audit?? Suppose they emulate the same??? How many schools or institutions shall close down because if mismanagement of funds??
Does this country still have the Anti-corruption commission??? What is their work?? Does such anomaly fall under their docket???
Perhaps this is the reason why St. auls Narati Secondary School is in the knees. Because principal seem to have compromised some officials to be in a position to siphon to the point of running on credit.... A public institution !!!!
Parents and community have made a vow that the principal of that latter school should not be retained there should it get back in session.....
The education office of Tongaren should not celebrate impunity to point of killing the institution .....the faster they intervened in this matters the better.....for there are more institutions who have fallen suit in this menace whose details are loading and will soon be out both primary and secondary.
Parents of st. Juliana secondary school are crying.....students are crying too.... The new principal is crying the loudest...... Ward busary submitted a cheque of 5000 each for 75 students that is the only boost that the school got..... Parents ought to help by paying in fees to help this new principal run the school with ease.
